About Us

Ruth Lilley and Claude Lovett set up Lilley Lovett Theatre Group in 2017 after working together on a production of The Lion King Kids at their local primary school. Both have a passion for teaching children and decided to share their combined years of experience to help give children an inspiring, memorable theatre group where each child is celebrated as an individual. You can read more about Ruth and Claude below.

Ruth

I’ve spent my entire career working in theatre. I love being able to share my passion for live performance with the next generation, inspiring them and helping them to grow into confident, creative young adults with invaluable skills which they will carry with them into any future job.

For me, the highlight of running Lilley Lovett has to be show week; seeing the childrens’ hard work come together into something they can feel truly proud of. As well as directing the shows, I also design the set and costumes which lets me bring out my artistic side too. When it all comes together, I’m completely in my element!

Alongside Lilley Lovett Theatre Group, I also work as a private Speech and Drama teacher – preparing students for LAMDA exams and auditions. If you’d like to find out more, please email me at ruth@lilley-lovett.org or call 07889 521497.

Claude

I was a kid who sang before I talked, and I haven’t stopped since! My love for performance began with dance lessons at just 4 years old, which led to stints in the West End as well as reaching Boot Camp on X Factor and appearing on Stars In Their Eyes as Diana Ross.

There’s no greater joy for me than watching children’s confidence blossom as they perform alongside their friends. I’m passionate about teaching children to embrace mistakes, work as a team and treat each other with respect.

Alongside Lilley Lovett Theatre Group, I’m a professional vocalist and I teach private singing lessons. I also run Soul Voices Choir bringing the joy of singing to both adults and children. I truly believe that everyone can sing – in all my years of teaching, I’ve never met anyone who really can’t. The sound the choir creates together is something special and I find it totally inspiring. For more information email me at claude@lilley-lovett.org or call 07889 000089.
